Global Wind Power takes over Windbrokers New Equipment

PRESS RELEASE                                September 18, 2008

As of today Global Wind Power B.V., exclusively representing Global Wind Power Ltd. - a 100% subsidiary of the Reliance ADA GROUP, has taken over Windbrokers New Equipment, full daughter of the Windbrokers Group B.V. With this step Global Wind Power obtains a vast network and experience in selling wind turbines. Windbrokers will focus on its core business: Selling used wind turbines.

Due to a shortage of available used wind turbines two years ago Windbrokers had extended its activities by selling new wind turbines. Actually a considerable increase of available used wind turbines is foreseen. The take-over of the new wind turbine division by Global Wind Power enables Windbrokers to focus and expand their used wind turbine business.

Global Wind Power, already active in India, is expanding its activities to a world wide level, with a special focus on United Kingdom & Ireland, Benelux, Eastern Europe, North and South America. Due to the current shortfall of wind turbines the market is asking for more production. Global Wind Power will contribute to these demands by having its own production facilities near Mumbai, India. It recently opened a state-of-the-art factory with an annual production capacity of 600 MW. This facility will manufacture modern wind turbines with a capacity of 750 kW (GWP 47) and 1.5 MW (GWP 77). First mentioned wind turbine will be available as from October 2008 onwards, while latter will come to the market mid 2009.

For the nearby future Global Wind Power has great expectations of the GWP 82 - 2.0 MW designed by Lagerwey Wind. A technology transfer agreement for has been signed last year by Global Wind Power and the renowned Dutch engineer. In 2009 a first prototype will be tested on a test field in Lelystad, the Netherlands, while a econd one will be erected on a test field in India. As of 2010 production of the GWP 82 will start.

The Reliance ADA Group has been active in energy with Reliance Power for many years. With the take-over of Windbrokers New Equipment, Global Wind Power further shows its commitment to the wind energy market and strengthens its position in Europe.

Windbrokers commenced dismantling of 250 WTG's

On January 2nd, 2008 Windbrokers has commenced the dismantling of 250 wind turbines from the Pesur/EEE wind farm near Tarifa, Spain. This wind farm was the first wind farm in Spain and the largest in number of turbines in Europe. The project is also the first larger repowering project in Spain. The 15-year old AWP, MADE and Ecotecnica turbines in the 100-180 kW category are being replaced by 37 Enercon wind turbines. The circumstances for dismantling are challenging: these turbines are installed on a mountain ridge near the Street of Gibraltar in Andalusia which is some of the windiest places in Europe.

Windbrokers ends its cooperation with Vestas RRB

By means of this press release dated August 15, 2007 Windbrokers announces that it has ended its cooperation with Vestas RRB India Ltd. The immediate reason for this is its recent experiences with the delivery of the first VRRB PS47/600 wind turbines. VRRB’s non-compliance with its contractual obligations as well as the lack of communication have led to a lack of confidence in the VRRB organisation. In addition, VRRB recent price increase was so high that the price/performance ratio of the PS47/600 wind turbine can no longer be considered competitive.

Mr. Dick Vermeulen, Managing Director of the Windbrokers Group stated the following: “In the interest of our customers and sales partners we find it necessary to end our cooperation with VRRB. After investing more than one year together with our sales partners in the marketing and sales of this product, regretfully we are forced to assess that the Indian organisation cannot comply with the demands set by our markets. However, the successful market launch of the PS47/600 in Europe, North America and Latin America has clearly shown that there is a significant market for newly proven performance machines in the kiloWatt segment. We will enter into discussions with other manufacturers in order to substantiate the current and future orders for delivering new turbines. At the same time, the prospects for our Used Equipment division are very favourable because of the government’s announcement of measures in our sourcing spheres for the benefit of repowering”.
